November 19 2012 – Loud booms heard around Perry Hall, Baltimore, USA

Someone on the Perry Hall Patch reports that loud booms shook her houses in the north part of Perry Hall late Monday morning. According to comments, the loud booms were also heard by other inhabitants of the region and the rumbling Strange Sounds continued during the afternoon. However, the source of the Sound remains unknown. Construction site? Aberdeen Proving Ground testing (APG)?

This note from the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command was released last week. It is a noise advisory was released:

“The U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, located here plans to conduct several large detonations beginning on or about Nov. 14 and ending on or about Nov. 21. These detonations are likely to generate sound and/or vibration outside the installation boundary. If weather conditions are not favorable in minimizing noise off the installation, firing will be rescheduled.

The U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, a test center under the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, provides test and test support servicesfor authorized customers, within the Department of Defense and outside theDoD, including government and non-government organizations, both foreignand domestic. ATEC plans, conducts, and integrates developmental testing,independent operational testing, independent evaluations, assessments, andexperiments to provide essential information to decision makers.”
