Weird! Parts of San Diego heard a mysterious boom on Wednesday afternoon and multiple people throughout the county heard the sound around 10 a.m. Police received calls of the strange sound and an official with Naval Base Coronado said they heard it as well, but it was not from training on the island. The source of the noise is unknown at this time.

My wife and I felt the boom here in hillcrest san diego around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday feb. 27. Shook our whole house and felt like an explosion underground. We felt disoriented for several minutes afterwards…this phenomena is powerful.
heard just after 10am ((10:10 or so) on wednesday, i was on the phone and rushed outside because i thought someone had actually hit my house with a car. i was completely startled that there wasn’t any damage. i checked online and no earthquake activity by me.
Heard a very similar boom this morning (February 28, 2013, 5:20-ish AM) in Albuquerque, NM. Shook our walls and set off our car alarm.
didn’t hear a boom but in rosarito, mexico a vibration was felt around 8:30 and windows shook dn’t know if that counts

Heard it here tonight (Feb 27, 2013) in Tucson, AZ around 7:45. Same thing happened a week or so ago as well.
I heard it at Balboa Hospital at around 10 or 11 am or so. It sounded like something fairly large landed on top of the warehouse I was in, and i caused the roof and walls to shake for several seconds. It was very loud and pretty scary.
we probably heard the same “sound”… i’m about a mile from you.
Loud booms heard in Paso Robles California @ 3:30pm…also heard fainter ones yesterday (Feb 26)…today were much louder.
I heard a boom noise around 505 pm in detroit suburbs michigan.
We heard it around 745 pm in Marana Arizona
