Loud booms seem to happen in “spurts” and travel in a direction throughout the country. Well, Texas got a wave of these odd sky sounds on the nights of March 8th, 9th, 10th, and 12th. Now it is starting in South Carolina. Here is the timeline:

Creepy loud rumbling sounds in South Carolina – March 12 2013

A couple of Greenville County report being terrified after experiencing a “loud and continuous sound” that seemed to move toward them from a distance about 9:44 p.m. on March 12, 2013. The weird sound started off sounding like rapid shot gun fire in the distance and then continued and got louder and louder and turned into a popping rumblings jet and thunder type noise. It continued on and was so loud that it was alarming. – Examiner

Another loud boom in Waxahachie, Texas – March 10 2013 – Godlike Production

Just had another loud boom in Waxahachie, Tx. It was exactly like the one we heard Friday night at about 9:00 pm. This on was not as intense as the one Friday and didn’t have the same concussion but it was still very loud. We have no idea what this could be. It is sure a very good way to get to know your neighbors and bring them all together though.

  1. March 18 2013 at 10:40 I heard a extremly loud cracking noise. My entire home shook. A bright flash of light came from the sky.. Around lake Arlington. I20 ..

  2. We live in Southern Louisville, KY and we heard a boom sound that shook the house on march 16th around 11:20am! At first we dismissed it as Ft. Knox or Thunder but as the morning progressed more and more people from surrounding counties started saying things about the sound! So far as 60 miles away! When WAVE3’s Facebook page was bombarded with questions they said they was going to investigate, but the only answer they came up with was “we contacted FT. Knox about the sound and they gave us the answer of The gun ranges are open” and that was it, they dropped it and nothing else was said!! I have lived in Louisville for 27 years and I know what Ft. Knox sounds like and I have never heard that before nor has it ever shook my house!!
