Two workers at Picnic Island Park in Tampa, Florida, were attacked by up to 100,000 Africanized honeybees, commonly known as killer bees. They are expected to fully recover. Not all victims of Africanized bees are so lucky. In 2011, an elderly couple in Texas was stung to death when they disturbed a hive while cleaning out their hunting cabin. – IBT
Huge, aggressive mosquito may be abundant in Florida this summer.

The Sunshine State, already home to man-eating sinkholes, invading Burmese pythons, swarming sharks, tropical storms and other disasters, can expect to see an explosion of shaggy-haired gallinippers (Psorophora ciliata), a type of giant mosquito, the size of a quarter, whose sting has been compared to a knifing if the rainy season is wet enough. – CS monitor
Vulture invasion in Bridgewater, New Jersey
Upmarket Jersey suburb is invaded by more than 100 VULTURES… and the only way to get rid of them is to hang a carcass upside down from a tree! If vultures are a bad omen, one New Jersey town should brace for disaster. More than 100 of the sinister black birds descended on Bridgewater this week, spooking residents. But authorities are more concerned about the damage the vultures will do to the properties they’re congregating near.
