Residents in Howell and all around Monmouth County may hear detonations throughout the week since the Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle has scheduled explosives and explosives effects training this week, from April 8 to April 12 2013. Howell residents in the area of NWS Earle may hear detonations in the afternoon hours, however weather conditions may lead to morning testing. In either way, if the weather is cloudy and cold the mysterious sounds can be heard up to 50 miles around. The training is being done in conjunction with the Transportation Security Administration.
