Rare tornado in Portsmouth UK – October 20 2013

According to witnesses, the tornado in Portsmouth sounded like a freight train going along the road.  High winds and rain damaged nearly 100 houses on Fishery Lane, Blackthorn Road and Ilex Walk on Hayling Island, UK on Ocotber 20, 2013. Cars have also been damaged from fallen trees and broken fences but there were no reported injuries. (SOURCE)

 

Destructive Hail Storm Injures 5 people in Bengladesh – October 20 2013

At least five people – including children – were injured, and homesteads, crops and trees were damaged in a 10-minute hailstorm in Sherpur of Bogra on Sunday afternoon. Traffic remained suspended on the Dhaka-Dinajpur Highway for nearly half an hour, as trees uprooted by the storm had fallen on the road. Officials said the storm-hit areas included Town Colony, Shreerampurpara, Jagannathpara, Ghoshpara and Khandakarpara in Sherpur upazila; and the adjacent Khandakartala, Bagha, Chalkpota and Sughat areas under Shahabandegi union.
