Well in December 2013, so last month or better said last year), a weird dancing blob washed up on shore in Brazil and people in Bristol Harbour reported a bioluminescent giant squid-like creature pulsing beneath the water. Here are the stories…

1. What is this mysterious dancing blob: An alien? A jellyfish?

This mystery blob-like creature washed up on to a beach on the Olivenca coastline in Bahia, Brazil – and it looks like an alien from another planet. The sea creature has a blown-up appearance a bit like a balloon, with a thin pale pink skin and a tiny head and tentacles.

In fact, it is known as a Portuguese man o’ war (Physalia physalis), and has venemous tentacles very like jellyfish. The video footage shows waves tossing it around every time they rise high enough, but other than that, it barely moves.

It’s not the only mystery sea monster to make an appearance recently.

2. Mysterious bioluminescent giant squid-like pulses beneath the water in Bristol

Experts were baffled after video footage emerged of a glowing “alien-like creature” swimming in Bristol harbour. People in Bristol Harbour reported a . Within hours, speculation about the bioluminescent giant squid-like creature’s identity reached fever pitch on social media, chat rooms and message boards.

However, it can be revealed the “alien” was in fact the work of the team at TV channel Watch who created the captivating ‘creature’. The viral stunt was designed to promote ‘The Happenings’, a new magic and illusion TV show from the producers of Derren Brown.

Too bad for this last one. But it really freaked me out!
