This is not a volcano eruption! No, no. It’s a dramatic fire that has been burning for three weeks at Hazelwood open-cut coal mine, in Victoria, Australia. And this fire will probably take months to extinguish!

These fantastic photographs have emerged of a dramatic fire at Hazelwood open-cut coal mine, Coalmine in Morwell, Victoria, Australia, which has left a town of nearly 14,000 people exposed to smoke and ash. It kind of reminds me of the ‘Door to Hell’ in Russia, except it is not burried in the ground.

This Coalmine has been on fire for almost three weeks now, after an arsonist lit bushfire that spread.

The city of Morwell has been engulfed in smoke and authorities say the fire could take months to extinguish.

Firefighters are now concerned about landslides due to the amount of water being poured into pit to try to estinguish the fire.
