Astronomers working at Chandra X-ray Observatory (NASA) and XMM-Newton (ESA) were baffled by their last space discovery, as they recorded a strange and unknown signal ejected from the Perseus galaxy cluster.

But astronomers already have a kind of idea what this alien signal may be. According to NASA, this mystery signal could result from the decay of still hypothetical sterile neutrinosSo by dark matter itself! These results would mean that dark matter (85% of the matter in the Universe) from about 240 million light years away from Earth has been observed and quantified… Amazing!

According to Sploid, this strange sound was discovered back in 2003. It has an oscillation period of 9.6 million years and this means that’s “57 octaves below the keys in the middle of a piano.”
