Noise Advisory: Loud Booms From Camp Pendleton Until August 22 2014

Noise advisory: Camp Pendleton is letting you know that they are conducting explosive trainings in and around the base.

So don’t be too surprised hearing strange sounds and explosive booms the next two days if you live in a 50 miles radius from the base.

Here is the noise advisory:

Thursday, Aug. 21

-Mortar Fire = 0900-2359
Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.

-Artillery Fire = (0001-0300) Extended Firing and 0600-2359
Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.

Friday, Aug. 22

-Mortar Fire = 0600-2359
Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.

-Artillery Fire = 0600-2359
Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu Impact areas.

For noise inquiries, you can contact Range Operations Division Office at 760-725-0357 during the hours of 0730-1630, Monday through Friday. After normal business hours (and weekends), contact the Command Duty Officer at 760-725-5061.

At least the Army is now starting to inform people about their training noises.
