It is actually funny that people park their cars exactly where a water main breaks!
This van probably needed a wash and his owner decided to put it just over a pipe that finally broke! The sinkhole swallowed this car in Denver last Friday on September 26, 2014. According to authorities, the almost submerged van had been parked there for a long time. After closing the road, officials turned off water service for approximately 20 homes. It is of course unknown how long it will take to fix the sinkhole.
But one thing is sure, the very old pipe was installed in 1951. To prevent sinkholes in the area, it would probably be time to fix all of them, no?
