The strongest tropical cyclone of 2014 named ‘ Hudhud ’ is to blame for the extreme blizzard that killed four trekkers near the Thorung La mountain pass on the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) is expecting this bad weather to continue until Thursday.

The army has deployed helicopters and troops are searching for more survivors near the Thorung La mountain pass on the Annapurna Circuit.

The bad weather is being blamed on the tail end of Cyclone Hudhud.

Hudhud hit south-east India earlier this week – satellite pictures now show it moving away from Nepal towards China.

A senior official in Mustang district, 200km (125 miles) north-west of Kathmandu, said five other Poles, four Israelis and five Germans had been rescued after a massive snowfall some 4,500m above sea level.

In a separate incident not far away, three Nepalese farmers died in an avalanche.[/quote_box_center]

Pretty bad! Take care!
