Now thousands of tuna crab die on Imperial Beach, California

After a massive beaching in Chile two days ago, it’s now Imperial Beach, California reporting thousands of tuna crab washing ashore near the pier on May 11, 2016.

As if it was spreading north…

This is the second year in a row that tuna crabs wash ashore in such large numbers.

Again, officials think it is linked to El Nino as the warmer waters are pushing the crabs up and when they hit the cold waters of San Diego, they die off.

The majority of the crabs that washed ashore in Imperial Beach are dead, but some are still alive. You should not eat them as they may be covered in toxins.

Official will finally say this new mass die-off is linked to a red tide… Like in Chile! 🙂
