Freight train derails in Brazil after violent rains and flash flooding destroy the railways

An empty freight train derailed on Tuesday morning (07/11/2017) in the Quem-Quem district Of Brazil due to heavy rains and flash flooding that destroyed parts of the tracks.

The disaster occurred around 6:30 am between Montes Claros and Janaúba, in the northern region of Minas Gerais. Two machinists were involved. One was injured.

Only one of the machinists was injured after the derailment of a train in Brazil.

Police and rescuer teams tried to reach the spot using 4×4 vehicules, but had to use a tractor from a local villager to reach the railroad as heavy rains and floods destroyed everything on their paths.

There were two drivers in the derailed train. One, not injured, managed to leave the loc. The other got stuck somehow and presented signs of hypothermia as rescuers arrived on site. Both were sent for complementary examinations to hospitals.
