Most of the quakes – more than 5,700 – hit in September. Moreover, two larger earthquakes shook the country – September 7 and 19 – killing hundreds of people. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto noted that 48 billion pesos (more than 2.5 billion dollars) were needed to fight the consequences of these two September’s earthquakes.

In October, Mexico had almost 3,800 tremors and in November the country shook more than 3,200 times.

In comparison to previous months in 2017, there is a clear difference: Jan: 1226, Fev: 1144, March: 1188, April: 1025, May: 1342, June: 1424, July: 1428, Aug: 1548… Seismic ‘normality’ in 2017 is around 1300 quakes per month and not above 3,000 (Sept., Oct and Nov.).

In comparison to previous years: about 850 tremors per month were recorded in 2015 and about 1350 per month in 2016. Within both years, there were no monthly peaks in seismicity…

What Mexicans experience since September 2017 is ANOMALOUS.
