It appears failure of the spillway may be imminent,” the city of Arlington said in the announcement, adding that the failure was not expected to damage any homes, if it happened. “If the dam fails, downstream culverts could get clogged with sediment and debris which could then cause roads to flood.

Two deaths and 3 injured

Two deaths have been confirmed in the wake of the storms. In Texas, a female Waller County deputy died late Wednesday night while on a rescue call. She lost control of her vehicle when she ran into water on a roadway. “Words will never express what our office is going thru and we can only ask for your prayers,” said a statement by Sheriff R. Glenn Smith posted on the agency’s Facebook site.

In Mississippi, 19-year-old Jayla Gray of Jackson, a student at Alcorn State University, died Thursday morning after she hit a tree fell that fell onto a Claiborne County road.

Three people were injured Thursday morning in Washington Parish, Louisiana, when a likely tornado touched down early Thursday. Two of the injured were hurt in when a mobile home was destroyed by the storm in Bogalusa, and the third was injured in a home located about a mile away. None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Tornado and wind damage

A radar-confirmed tornado tore through parts of Natchez, Mississippi, early Thursday morning, downing power lines and prompting rescues, according to the National Weather Service.

It tore up trees and old businesses that had been sitting awhile. Everybody is without power,” Kevin Bryant, a resident of Port Bryant, Mississippi, northeast of Natchez, told the Associated Press. “It definitely woke you up. That wind was howling.

In Louisiana, significant wind damage from what the NWS is calling a “likely tornado” tore through parts of Pineville and Alexandria, just before midnight Wednesday night. Cars and buildings were damaged and trees and power lines were downed in Rapides Parish in central Louisiana.

On Wednesday evening, an EF1 tornado hit central Kentucky, leaving several buildings damaged. In Hardin County, a home was damaged when a tree was blown onto it. No injuries were reported.

Power cuts

The storms have knocked out power to some 24,000 customers in Louisiana. Across the South, nearly 100,000 homes and businesses lost power.

Texas badly hit

Severe storms also passed through southeastern Texas Wednesday afternoon and evening, and heavy rainfall flooded some streets. In the Houston area, frontage roads along IH-10 were inundated, though no major roads had to be shut down.

It’s crazy. The power is out. It was raining a little bit, but I was not expecting this this morning at all.” Schools were delayed or closed Thursday in parts of several states due to damage and power outages.

The storm threat continues for the Southeast through Friday. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible, particularly from southeastern Louisiana eastward across central and southern Alabama, southwestern Georgia and the Florida Panhandle, including areas ravaged by Hurricane Michael last month.

    • President Obama explaining UFO attack over Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. There is a secret underground NASA facility under the Air Force Base with an Airport bigger than Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. UFOs, “They are good guys!”, killed 500 Reptilian engineers and technicians by zapping them with their Direct Energy Weapons. Those 500 military Reptilian guys stole an ancient Reptilian UFO, Vimana, from Afghanistan and re-assembling in their secret underground base. They were warned not to do that, but they did not listen. That was why those 500 Reptilian military guys were zapped by UFOs of Galactic Federation of Light.
