Intense Arctic Blasts to Freeze America and Europe and Boost the Corona Pandemic on Both Continents This Weekend

2

While a powerful Arctic outbreak is forecast across a large swath of the United States after Thursday, a significant Arctic River is set to engulf eastern and central Europe this weekend.

These unusually cold late March weather patterns will hit blossoming trees and could boost the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The European and American continents are ahead of a significant weather change this week.

The current ‘high’ temperatures are going to fall suddenly as frigid Arctic blasts are forecast for Thursday in the USA and Sunday in Europe.

Temperatures will fall below 20°F across the northern half of the US, even below 0°F near the US-Canada.

Same thing on the other side of the Atlantic, where the current warm temperatures over Europe will end abruptly on Thursday after a potent Arctic cold outbreak will hit eastern and central Europe this coming weekend.

The resulting frost conditions will be devastating for early blossoming trees.

Moreover, those unusually cold late March temperatures could boost the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic. The virus loves colder temperatures.

Arctic blast in the US

It will feel like January in March! The extremely cold Arctic air mass will begin its invasion tonight, reaching the central plains on Thrusday evening, and the Midwest and Great Lakes on Friday.

The current ‘high’ temperatures (mid-60s to 70s across the Midwest) will drop dramatically sometimes even below 20°F across Nebraska, Wyoming and South Dakota on Friday morning. Some temperatures could even reached below 0°F across northern Minnesota and North Dakota

Weather simulators forecast this Arctic blast to freeze everything over the week and early next week:

Arctic blast vs Coronavirus infection rate

The spread of the coronavirus pandemic is dependent on prevailing weather conditions.

The coronavirus seems to love deep temperature and is inhibited or even killed by warmer temperatures (like flu actually!).

People’s immune system tends to be weaker in cold weather. Moreover, sharp weather have a negative impact on the human immune system.

The Covid-19 disease mainly kills old people with a weak immune system. So the European and American cold blasts could increase the possibility of infection on both continents. Take care and follow Strange Sounds and Steve Quaylefor more news on weather anomalies and coronavirus. [Severe Weather]
