Why Do Insects Bite or Sting Us?

No one likes it when an insect decides to bite or sting you. Though insects are relatively small when compared to us by size, their bites and stings have great effects on us.

There are various reasons why insects bite or sting us. Most insects tend to refrain from biting or stinging us if they are not provoked. An insect may feel provoked by you, and this results in it biting or stinging you. It may do this as a way of protecting itself or its hive.

So, the next time you see an insect, it may be better off leaving it alone to prevent it from biting you.

Other insects may bite you when looking for your blood. The most common blood-hungry insect is the mosquito. This insect is considered as one of the most dangerous insects in the world. When sucking your blood, you may be infected by malaria, which is a life-threatening disease.

Many people tend to have sleepless nights because of mosquitos. They tend to be annoying and may make your night uncomfortable. The only mosquitos that sting us for our blood are the female mosquitoes, and this is because they need blood to form their eggs.

What Are the Symptoms of Insects Bites and Stings?

The reason why we tend to dislike insect bites and stings is the fact that they tend to have harmful side effects.

The most common effect of being bitten or stung is pain. The amount of pain you feel tends to vary depending on the type of insect.

Another effect is swelling. Most of this effect happens because insects tend to leave saliva or a form of venom.

  1. My wife is a big long term user of CBD. Mostly for arthritis. I tried it many times, but I am not a believer yet. Doesn’t seen to help me with anything.

Insects? Try putting a little Lavender Oil behind your ears or back of the neck. Amazingly it will keep Mosquitos and even No-See-Ems away.
