A very strong ice tsunami has created a 12-kilometer (7.5 miles) giant wall of ice on Xingkai Lake, a border lake between China and Russia.

As if even nature was scared about the spread of the coronavirus.

Within a few hours, Mother Nature has built a new Great Wall in China.

Helped by strong winds and giant wall and strong currents, the wall has grown from a mere two-to-three meters (6.6 to 10 feet) high to a staggering 20 meters (66 feet) tall ice barricade.

Although this is a common sight in this area, the wall is expected to get even taller in the coming days.

Similar to Lake Baikal, Xingkai Lake – a major stopover point for migratory birds in the Asia-Pacific region due to its abundant biodiversity and complex ecosystem – is known for its colorless to blue ice, looking like mesmerizing crystals.

And since we like strange sounds on this blog, you better listen to the incredible colors and sounds of that ice in this article or in the video below.

Such an ice tsunami must be terrifying to experience. Imagine the power you need to build a wall measuring 12 kilometers in length and 20 meters high. That is just insane.
