Terrible for amateurs of wines… Terrible hailstorms destruct entire ‘domaines in Bordeaux.
Not a single grape remains on some vines in France’s Bordeaux region after a hail storm over the weekend. This first video shows you the amazing power of this hailstorm that occured on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 21:15. The hail was the size of tennis ball on Saint Martin de Gurson, Carsac de Gurson, Villefranche de Lonchat Saint Vivien and in Aqutaine between Bergerac and Libourne / Bordeaux.
Many winemakers will not be able to produce wine at all this autumn. This latest blow to the already frail industry means some producers may have to declare bankruptcy.
This tragic event arrives just a few weeks after summer storms destroyed up to 90 per cent of crops in Burgundy. (Source)
