They were looking for human survivors but stumpled upon a brave dog!
On May 31, 2014 a large mudslide covered part of the village of Joya Grande in Northwest Guatemala. As shown in the following video, a research team rescued a dog who stayed 18h underground.
The team was looking for survivors when they heard a noise. After digging, they discovered a healthy but dehydrated dog. The dog was renamed “Afortunado” (lucky).
