There are no volcanoes in the region, but residents experienced a volcanic eruption…
It is difficult to explain what residents of the Gadiyada village in Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh just experienced… But I would also had been terrified!
Just 100m out of Gadiyada village in India, there is a small hill, which erupted, triggering panic among the people of the area. This is indeed the first time such a volcanic activity has been witnessed in the state. Residents reported seeing flames and a hot liquid stream coming out of this suddenly active hill.
According to State geologists, it was a ‘small magmatic activity.’ Gases and liquids were being emitted from holes in a 10 feet area around the hill. Signs for this unexpected volcanic eruption were manyfold during the last few days: rise of underground temperature in the area and steel electricity poles becoming red hot.
And just be carefull when going outside… Sulphur-like material and black stones are flying around in the area!
