This arc-shaped cloud band was the sign of the cold front entering by the NE of the Peninsula on August 13, 2014. The MODIS image reflects the magnitude of the arc. Such formation are unexpected at this time of the year.
In some places around Barcelona, perfect rolling clouds formed. It is a rare type of arcus cloud.
All of these strange weather phenomena are the result of a very active deep over Central Europe.
The front went on toward further South in the Western Mediterranean.
