As rescue arrived, the pit was only 4 feet wide and 4 feet deep. And the car in front of the house only had a tire on its edge. Within 15 minutes, the sinkhole had grown to 10 feet wide and 10 feet deep. And the entire vehicle had been engulfed by the cave-in. I said rapidly growing?

Five other homes near the depression have been evacuated until the ground has been declared stable. This makes six families needing a temporary shelter. The Red Cross helps them.

Since Pasco County is working on a sewer lift station near the property, I do believe we face a sinkhole here! However, officials are referring as a depression or a subsurface anomaly, until an engineer determines what it is exactly.
