On Friday May 8 2015, the Telica volcano in Nicaragua generated earthquakes and explosions triggering emission of gases.
The two earthquakes – magnitude 2.4 and 2.2 – were shallow and probably related to the activity in the magma chamber.
Residents of northwestern Nicaragua reported a series of explosions with gas fumes at Telica.
Outgassing is confirmed by the image and video:
The Telica volcano is considered the most active in Nicaragua. Could it erupt in the next days?
