New Madrid County shaken by 12 earthquakes in less than 24 hours… OMG

New Madrid County – just northeast of Marston and south of Lilbourn – has been shaken by a series of 12 earthquakes on November 25, 2015.

And as you know, the most violent series of earthquakes ever recorded in the United States hit southeast Missouri between 1811 and 1812. OMG…

12 shallow and small earthquakes have shaken New Madrid County in Missouri on November 25 2015 triggering loud booms and panic among residents.

The quakes were felt in Risco, Dexter, Matthews, and New Madrid.

Some people even reported loud booms and big clash of thunder like a semi truck passing by.

New Madrid County, Missouri has a shaky history, with the most violent series of earthquakes ever recorded in the United States hitting in New Madrid in about a seven week stretch between 1811 and 1812.

Well hopefully, these small quakes only help release pressure that builds up along the fault, and are not a precursor to a large quake. Everyone should enjoy their Thanksgiving… And not worry, or maybe just later on.

  1. LMAO! They know exactly what this is. AND if they ‘don’t’, the fire marshall and company need to kick it in high gear and find out. We still hear this crap all around us on the south side of Laf. This article is just a smoke screen.
