On December 17, 2016, the Colima volcano registered its strongest eruption in the last 16 months.
The volcanic peak ejected ash and incandescent material high in the air at 20:58 pm.

The Colima volcano exploded strongly on December 17, 2016 at 8:58 pm local time sending ash and incandescent material high in the air.
The volcanic peak shows enhanced activity since beginning of this week.
The General Directorate of Civil Protection of the Interior recommends the population to wear masks (covering nose and mouth), close windows and stay as much as possible inside their homes in case of ash fall.
