This is just amazing! Look at this giant dust storm that engulfed the southern provinces of Egypt – Ken, Assiut, Al-Wadi El-Gadid, Luxor, Sohag and the Red Sea – first changing the color of the sky to Orange, before changing day into night. Ports and many airports were closed down. Thousands of people were found without electricity.

The biblical sand storm was accompanied by strong winds gusting up to 20 meters per second.
Authorities urged people to stay home and not to take the road.
The heavy dust storm disrupted the power supply in the south of the county, plunging several provinces in darkness.
Due to bad visibility, many highways were blocked by police to reduce the chance of deadly road accidents.
Ports in Hurghada, Nuweiba and Alexandria have been closed and most of the country’s airports temporarily shut down.
