The Piton de la Fournaise, a shield volcano on the eastern side of the Réunion island in the Indian Ocean has started erupting on October 25, 2019, for the fifth time this year.
It is currently one of the most active volcanoes in the world, along with Stromboli and Etna in Italy and Mount Erebus in Antarctica.
The eruption initiated at 2:40pm local time. Below another video of the new eruption:
This years’s eruptions of the Piton de la Fournaise didn’t last long and so the volcano couldn’t liberate all of its lava. Hopefully, we will have a great eruption this time. [Facebook, Twitter]
