According to meteorologists, the wind speed exceeds 20-25 meters per second in some places – 35 m / s.
There is also a strong swell with waves reaching up to 6 meters height.
Five people were injured. 500 schools are closed.
About 2.5 million homes in 10 cities, towns and villages were left without electricity.

Methods and apparatus for affecting atmospheric cyclones and quantifying parameters related to affected cyclones are disclosed. These methods and apparatus involve attacking a cyclone chemically, without the use of explosives, with an energy transfer inhibitor that can interfere with the transmission of energy from the sea surface to the cyclone. The energy transfer inhibitor, if properly chosen and placed in a desired path of the storm, can deny one part of the storm energy from the latent heat of vaporization of water, thereby creating an imbalance in the centrifugal force of the cyclone. The imbalance can reduce the intensity of the cyclone and can be used to steer the storm. Quantifying parameters associated with an affected cyclone enables forecasting the cyclone’s energy state, path, intensity, or other related parameters and evaluating possible additional energy transfer inhibitor distribution.

Methods and systems are described for the abatement of hurricanes and other atmospheric disturbances. The methods and systems comprise the delivery of various coolants in either their liquid, gaseous, or solid states and applying such coolants to energy feeding regions of the atmospheric disturbance identified by analytical modeling. The coolants are both cryogenic and non cryogenic. In addition to cooling, the cryogenic coolants create wind-sheer and large frozen objects in mesoscale model identified updrafts of an atmospheric disturbance from high altitudes down to sea level. All coolants bring about the abatement of the hurricane by the dehydration of the moisture laden air, the disruption of the stability of the hurricane winds, and the preemption of work by the hurricane’s heat engine prior to land fall.

System and method for decreasing the intensity and frequency of tropical storms or hurricanes

Submarines are provided with bluff-shaped surfaces and/or fins used for modification of tropical storms or hurricanes by mixing the upper layer of a section of a body of water with water from a lower section of the body of water. By coordinating a number of submarines to traverse a region of a tropical storm or ahead of a hurricane the cooled water reduces the amount of heat energy available to fuel the intensity and movement of storms. A perforated plate of approximately 100 m×100 m is used, with or without fins, to mix layers of water by creating sufficient turbulence to create eddies up to 50 m. Submarines are used to entrain fluid motion to induce anti-cyclonic vorticity in the body of water.

This method is achieved by displacing the warmer surface water with the cooler water below it. The method involves using a surface vessel, such as a ship, in a region of open water to dissipate or weaken tropical cyclones by positioning the surface vessel in a path of travel of a tropical cyclone. The surface vessel is equipped with a redistribution device to collect warm surface water as the surface vessel is propelled through open water, and the warm water is diverted beneath its natural stratification level and replaced with cooler water along the surface of the open water

Optionally, the water may be cooled by circulating the water to bring cool water up from below the surface to cool the surface water. Optionally, the wind of the storm may be used to provide power to drive a pump to circulate the water. Alternatively, a liquid in a container may be mixed by placing a wind-powered pump in the container and exposing the pump to wind.

Once over a large body of water the dry air mass will readily collect moisture released by the large body of water by evaporation and then be taken by prevailing trade winds over land where the moisture will be deposited in the form of rain.
