Did you also hear the two loud booms?
As reported in the news, they were created by RAF supersonic jets… Or do you think they may have another explanation? Here some links:

I heard one loud ‘boom’ in Leeds , UK at 9:50 pm on Monday 2nd may.
It shook the whole house…
However…
I have lived in jet test areas where sonic booms are common. This did not sound the same and seemed to come more from the ground than air.
The official explanation is tornado jets escorting a ‘silent’ aircraft to an airport. This even at cruising speed would have been well be,is speed of sound, never mind a slower approach speed or ‘ noise abatement speed’ required over urban areas at that time. So why would a jet sent to take a look or escort be travelling past speed of sound?
Why do air tracking sites show an unknown plane circling the North Sea at the time in question? It’s hardly Heathrow Approach!
I’m not generally a ‘tinfoil hat wearing’ conspiracy theorist, but not quite buying into the explanation given here!
