A fire rainbow suddenly appeared in the sky of Rio de Janeiro on May 28, 2015.

According to Helio de Carvalho Vital, some cirrostratus formations suddenly appeared over Rio, announcing the arrival of a cold front.
One of them, of an unusually bright translucid glow, passed in front of the Sun, producing an spectacular display of iridescence as shown in these photos.
Two hours later, it started to rain.
These clouds are sometimes taken as a sign for an imminent earthquake. However, on May 28, 2015, this iridescent cloud was just magic!
