Thanks to continued snowfall, Mammoth Mountain, CA, has reported 40 – 54 inches from this current storm with an expected snow accumulation of 22 -28 inches today.
Mammoth Mountain has surpassed last year’s season snowfall total and, with 419″ of fresh snow at the summit, is now officially the snowiest ski area on Earth. 310 inches have dropped at the Main Lodge, including 13 feet since January 1. The resort also has the deepest base in the country.
Mammoth has been closed today due to the intense snowfall conditions and very dangerous travel in the area. Roads have been heavily impacted and are not plowed. The resort will focus on avalanche mitigation work today and protecting our equipment. They plan to reopen today, January 11.

All that powder needs packing and skiing right now. Get the Caterpillar grooming those runs, and everybody get to work so you can rake in the seasonal money, and hit the slopes. That is exactly what I would do if I were in my 30’s again.
?
Another 5′ of snow enroute. Hahaha. Nice season for ski and snowboard people.
It’s call geoengineering what happens in California.
They want us to believe in their ‘climate change’ hoax…
So much for global warming by the way
That’s a lot of snow!!
What is that sound like ‘rain’ or ice pellets falling???
Ok, that is rare to close Mammoth due to massive snowpack. That area is prone to earthquakes. I would speculate we will see an earthquake there very soon. My prediction is now on record.
No drought fear propaganda will hold water this Spring.
Man…an earthquake with 35 + feet of snow means…AVALANCHE!!!!!
That means millions of tons of snow moving all at once…I would call that a MOOVING situation!
All that weight, and when it thaws is my speculation as to a cause and effect.
