Homes evacuated as Devil’s Woodyard mud volcano erupts twice after 23 years of rest in Trinidad and Tobago

There have been two mud volcano eruptions at Devil’s Woodyard in Hindustan, New Grant on February 13, 201 after just 23 years of rest. The first eruption occurred sometime around 4 am, while another one happened just after 9 am. There has been no harm to human life but three homes in close proximity to the site have been evacuated. Cracks appeared in the ground and destroyed the concrete footpaths around the site.

The Disaster Management Unit of Trinidad and Tobago are now on site.

Now cracks are appearing in the ground. via Newsday

So be cautious around the site of this now active volcano.
