The sci-fi DARPA laser weapon has been already mounted on a military plane!
DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has stuck its “Star Wars”-style laser cannon on a fighter jet and flew it over Michigan eight times.
And this without saying anything of course! These initial flight tests were completed with success as released by Lockheed Martin.
These initial flight tests validate the performance of our ABC (Aero-adaptive Aero-optic Beam Control) turret design. This new weapon allows high-energy lasers to fire on enemy aircraft and missiles from a full 360 degrees — above, below, and behind the aircraft. Impressive!
As reported by c-net: Perhaps it would be wise to start scanning the galaxies not just for potentially habitable exoplanets, but for planet-size super weapons as well.
