Lightning kills 150 people in India, 60 cows in Nicaragua and 44 in Nigeria

Lightning storms are currently very deadly. And that across the world.

They have killed more than 150 people in India within the last two months. Meanwhile, more than 100 cows died in Nicaragua and Nigeria withint the last few days.

More Than 150 Killed In Last 2 Months in Madhya Pradesh, India

Madhya Pradesh had the highest number of lightning deaths in India in August-September this year, during which more than 150 people were killed.

Additionally, there were over 6.25 lakh lightning flashes across the state. That’s twice as many as second-place Uttar Pradesh.

This is in addition to the 102 lightning deaths between April 1 and July 1, which means 250 people were struck dead by lightning in six months, coming to an average of one a day.Times of India

Lightning Kills 60 Cows In Nicaragua

A total of 60 cows were killed by a lightning strike at the Fertimar farm in Chontales.

The animals were struck while seeking protection under a tree.

Another herd of 21 cattle was killed on June 9, 2019 on the island of Ometepe, in the department of Rivas, Nicaragua. – SputnikNews

Lightning Kills 44 Cows In Nigeria

Eight cows have been killed by lightning while grazzing atop a mountain in Ondo State, Nigeria on October 22, 2019.

Immediately after the cows were struck dead, the two Fulani herders rushed to the butchers in town and sold them the cows for a cheaper price.

But they were later arrested by the police as the flesh is considered ‘contaminated’ by environment health officers.

This happens roughly a month after more than 36 cattle also calcined in a nearby sacred site of the Ondo State. – PunchNG
