The snow turned blood red and green at the Ukrainian Antarctic base “Akademik Vernadsky,” on Galindez Island near the Antarctic Peninsula.
The same phenomenon occurred last year. You remember?
And here the green snow…
This color change is probably due to a bloom of microscopic algae. I would like to know if those red and green tides also contain some of this ancient and mysterious life recently discovered.
