A FREAK sandstorm has swept across Saudi Arabia, sparking claims of a “biblical event” and an “apocalyptic warning,” after the sun got blocked and the sky turned blood red, today!
Today, the city of Arar, located on the northern borders of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was affected by a biblical sandstorm…
The extreme weather event swept the northern region of the country, including al-Jawf, the capital Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, as well as eastern parts of Mecca and Medina, according to SPA. Meanwhile the apocalyptic storm is heading towards Kuwait little by little.
The strong dust storm is fueled by northwesterly winds of more than 70 kmh (44 mph), causing dust to reduce visibility to less than 50 meters (164 feet).
In a statement, the civil defense urged people to stay at home, especially those with respiratory illnesses. In addition to dust, the wind may carry pollutants, as well as plant pollens. In this case, wearing a mask is a good idea 😉
It also warned drivers to be cautious when driving near lamp posts, electricity poles, and billboards on the street.
The deep dynamic Mediterranean airflow (998 millipars) should infiltrate the northeastern Saudi Arabian airspace on Friday night. The wind will be volatile, violent and dusty there.
The dust waves are expected to continue until the beginning of Ramadan, pointing out that the region will be affected by a large dust wave and a strong activity of winds, that could reach 90 km per hour. More on Al Arabiya and My Kuwaits.
