China’s latest architectural icon is a horseshoe. An amazing illuminated building!
For some, it’s a donut, for others a horseshoe. One thing is clear: the new unusual design of the Sheraton Hotel from star-architect Ma Yansongin Huzhou is a full success. LED lamps on the facade allow different lighting and color effects, which are reflected in the spectacular surrounding of Taihu Lake. The structure is connected by two underground floors.
The floor in the lobby is made of white jade from Afghanistan and tiger eye from Brazil. About 20’000 crystal chandelier are hanging from the ceiling. The 282 rooms spread over 27 floors. Price for this luxury is around 400$. Not the very cheap architectural highlight!
