Could you imagine a star 3,600 times larger than our Sun? Introducing Hypergiant VY Canis Majoris.
You want a fascinating fact? Our Sun is approximately 1,000,000 times more massive than the Earth (and here look at the moon). You want another one? Our sun is only a “medium” sized star. OMG! They apparently get bigger, MUCH BIGGER.
Star VY Canis Majoris, located in the constellation Sirius, is called a hypergiant star. It’s about 3,600 times larger than our Sun and, by the way, is one of the largest known in the whole universe. These kinds of giant stars are burning thousands of times faster than our Sun. What’s even more terrifying is that it will most likely result in a Hypernova… And this may have some very bad effects on some part of the galaxy…
Amazing space anomaly!
