Another homeless man died due to the cold in São Paulo on June 14, 2016. This is the fifth victim of the cold in the last 3 days in State capital.
Another man was found near the Santana metro, north, on June 9, 2016 as well as a woman and 2 men on June 10, 2016.
Meanwhile, in Urupema, Santa Catarina, one of the coldest cities in Brazil, a waterfall completely froze overnight beginning of June 2016.
In São Joaquim, the trees were decorated with drops of ice crystals, waterfalls stopped running, and pounds froze up overnight.
It’s even dangerous to walk on pavement (sidewalk). Everything is frozen! And people in the area are so baffled by this sudden polar cold wave they have to take souvenir pictures.
On June 1, 2016, thermometers marked -7.2 ° C, the lowest temperature of the year in Urupema.
Temperatures below zero were also recorded in 42 other cities such as -6.1 ° C in Bom Jardim da Serra.
