A new earthquake swarm is ongoing since March 24, 2022 around 7:01p.m. local time, reported INVOLCAN on its Facebook page.
The 60 quakes in the new seismic crisis are long-term seismic events striking on the Cumbre Vieja volcano.
They currently occur at depths of around 10-13 km (6.2-8.1 miles).

These long-period seismic events do not reflect a process of magmatic intrusion, but a release of hydrothermal fluids caused by the cooling of the magma chamber.
Meanwhile, about 1,500km from there another island, the Sao Jorge in the Azores, is also currently being hit by thousands of quakes right now. There, officials have raised the volcanic alert to 4 out of 5 yesterday.
