Will C/2014 E2 (Jacques) be the new comet of the century, thus replacing Comet ISON that disintegrated last November?
You probably all know, Comet ISON, thought to be the comet of the century, died mysteriously about four months ago. Now, Brazilian astronomers have discovered by using the SONEAR observatory near Oliveira, Brazil, a new intense and luminous comet, which they baptized C/2014 E2 (Jacques). The confirmation image (above) was produced by astronomers working at the Remanzacco Observatory in Italy. It’s not the first comet discovery made by this team of astronomers (Cristovao Jacques, E. Pimentel, and J. Barros).

Wow! Did you remark the very bright coma? Time will tell if this comet will replace ISON!
