Erik van der Goot shot this impressive close-up footage of a gargantuan Mola Mola, or ocean sunfish, approaching at a depth of about 15 metres. Along with a friend, van der Goot took a dive off the coast of Malta, carrying a GoPro camera to record any unique sightings. Little did he expect to encounter what he describes as possibly “the largest Mola ever seen” on that expedition.
Information posted on the video states: The video was shot at a depth of 15m. This once in a lifetime experience occurred at Wied il Mielah, on the north coast of Gozo, Malta. This may be the largest Mola ever seen. The last part of the video was taken around 20 minutes later at roughly the same depth.
