This incredibly large blue blue jet was captured by a skywatcher during a thunderstorm over the city of Campina Grande, on March 13, 2017.
This kind of transient luminous event appears at the tops of powerful cumulonimbus clouds and extends to altitudes of 40-50 km.
The total length of the jet can reach 20-30 km and the width of its top up to several kilometers. It has blue light, as explained by its name.
