Another earthquake swarm hits Yellowstone: 201 quakes rattle West Yellowstone and 12 around Lincoln in one week

Are we looking at a new earthquake swarm beginning at Yellowstone Park?

At least 201 quakes rattled West Yellowstone, Montana and 12 shook Lincoln, Montana during last week.

On June 16, 2017, a large swarm of small quakes was set off by a shallow 4.5 earthquake in Yellowstone. Three weeks ater, on July 6, 2017, a M5.8 earthquake – the largest earthquake in years – rocked Northwest of Yellowstone national park near Lincoln, Montana.

Now about 10 days after the M5.8 earthquake in Lincoln, a NEW earthquake swarm is rattling the area with more than 200 quake in West Yellowstone:

9 earthquake were above M2.5 (M2.9, M3.4, M2.8, M2.5, M2.5M3.6, M2.8, M2.6, M2.9):

Moreover, 15 quakes with 5 tremors having a magnitude larger than M2.5 (M2.6, M2.9, M2.7, M4.0, M2.7) hit the area around Lincoln, Montana:

Enhanced seisimicity was also recorded around Lincoln in July 2017. via USGS

This enhanced seismic activity underlines again that there is still a lot of pressure to be released in both regions! And that nobody knows when and how the pressure will finally drop down. I would just get prepared! You never know!
