Some residents in east Tulsa reported early Thursday morning (just after midnight) loud “booms” in Tulsa, Oklahoma coming from the direction of the CMC Recycling Plant. No damages and no injured have been reported yet. Operations at the recycling plant also have continued since the explosion this morning. – KTUL
The company answered with this email to numerous newspaper calls:
“Just before midnight on February 27th, during normal processing of shreddable scrap material, a small propane tank was inadvertently processed. The mill is designed to withstand these types of events and is equipped with a fire suppression system.”
