A discovery of a lifetime! Shipwreck hunter finds mysterious 1861 steamer at the bottom of Lake Huron full of gold from the Civil War. David Trotter and his crew discovered the side-wheel steamer, named Keystone State, in July 2013 at the bottom of Lake Huron.
The ship was among the most luxurious and largest steamers running during the Civil War era and its landing place remained a mystery for more than 150 years. It was found under 175 feet of water , 25-30 miles northeast of Harrisville. [DailyMail]
