I spotted these amazing mammatus clouds in the sky over Bern, the capital of Switzerland, during a picnic with some friends.
It was my first time and I must say I am pretty happy!
While reading this blog, you have probably stumbled upon one or two posts about this amazing type of clouds. The mammatus clouds are indeed often related to extreme thunderstorms. Since weather anomalies are one of my favorite topics, I do report news and other pictures of strange clouds in the sky.
Now, I am HAPPY to talk about my own experience and to present some pictures of mammatus clouds that I took two weeks ago while eating in a park.
It was fascinating to watch how fast these clouds covered the blue sky and everything around turned darker and darker. But we were lucky and it only started raining a few hours later, when we already had shelter… These heavy thunderstorms were much appreciated after four days of really hot weather.
