Burying cars and homes in 60 cm of hail and forcing residents to shovel…
Heavy thunderstorms engulfed the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas on June 2-3, 2020, mainly affecting Lombardy, Italy.
A very intense storm system hit the northern area of the region, in particular between the provinces of Lecco, Brescia, and Bergamo.
In Bergamo, the most affected area, there was so much hail that cars were stucked and people were forced to shovel.
Locally the hail has also reached considerable dimensions; up to 6 centimeters (2.4 inches) wide.
Many residents in the Lecco area, in particular between Civate and Valmadrera, reported damaged cars, roofs and windows.
The hail storm has also destroyed many crops in the region. More apocalyptic weather news on Strange Sounds and Steve Quayle. [Thisisitaly]
